After years of loyal service, Bob has officially been FIRED. The once-respected newspaper writer failed to capture the attention of the media, the league, and frankly, anyone with a functioning attention span. To make matters worse, his newspapers kept arriving late. In a league where trades happen in seconds and managers make questionable decisions before breakfast, lateness is simply unacceptable. The front office had seen enough. Bob was shown the door, his press credentials revoked, and his newspaper privileges terminated effective immediately. But that left one very important question: WHO WOULD WRITE THE NEWS LETTERS? After countless interviews, questionable candidates, and at least three people who thought fantasy football meant playing Madden, one man emerged victorious.
Everyone lets welcome: Pancho.
The new Fantasy Weekly writer wasted no time getting to work. His first assignment? The Week 5 newspaper of the 2026 Fantasy Squad season. But before he could even open his laptop, a mysterious file appeared on his desk. Stamped across the front in bold letters were two words: āDADDYāS SECRET.ā Pancho looked around the office. Nobody spoke. Somewhere in the distance, a printer started making a suspicious noise. Curiosity got the better of him. He opened the file and discovered information about a long-buried story that had NEVER been published. Its codename?
PROJECT: DADDYāS BELT.
The incident occurred one year ago. For reasons still unknown, the previous administration refused to release the findings. Bob knew too much. Or perhaps Bob simply couldnāt finish the article on time. Either way, Pancho knew what he had to do. His first article would expose the truth.
š FOUR TEAMS. ONE BELT. ONE DADDY.
Four teams entered the semifinals. RamZilla and Nate Dog (RIP) came in as the big dawgs. Dangerous Ed and Team Whoās Your Daddy were the underdogs. The big dawgs were confident. The underdogs were hungry. Turns out the big dawgs were mostly just loud. š¶
š ROUND ONE: SEND āEM TO THE KENNEL
Dangerous Ed struck first, taking down RamZilla 165.00ā154.42. RamZilla talked like Godzilla all season⦠then got taken out by Dangerous Ed. š Next up was Nate Dog against Team Whoās Your Daddy. Nate came in ready to prove he belonged with the leagueās elite.
Final score: Whoās Your Daddy ā 113.64 to Nate Dog's ā 106.76.
Welp. RIP Nate Dog. šŖ¦ All that barking just to get sent back to the kennel. Two big dawgs entered the semifinals. Neither made it out. š
š THE DADDY BOWL
That left Dangerous Ed vs. Team Whoās Your Daddy for the championship. Eddie had just knocked out RamZilla. Confidence was high. The trophy was within reach. There was just one problem⦠Daddy came home. Whoās Your Daddy ā 238.28 to Dangerous Ed ā 218.70. A 19.58-point spanking. Eddie was sent to his room. Nate Dog was back in the kennel. RamZilla was somewhere explaining how he āwouldāve won ifā¦ā And Elias Michel Jr.? He became a TWO-TIME FANTASY SQUAD CHAMPION. šš Not luck. Not a fluke. Back-to-back proof that apparently none of you learned the first time. So once again, the league was forced to answer the most disrespectful question in Fantasy Squad history:
WHOāS. YOUR. DADDY? šš
š® PANCHOāS FINAL VERDICT
Pancho leaned back in his chair, closed the file, and stared silently into the distance. He took one slow bite of his taco. āHĆjoleā¦ā he whispered. āThis league really did find out who their daddy was.āĀ
The Fantasy Squad Weekly will continue investigating. Unless Pancho gets fired first.
Editorās Note: Pancho is currently on probation. This is his first week. š
Week 5 is in the books, and apparently mercy was not on the schedule.
Team Tr3 absolutely bullied Ramzilla 165.30ā132.70, dropping the former big dawg to 2-3. Somebody check on himāGodzilla is starting to look more like a gecko. š¦
Team Whoās Your Daddy destroyed ThePackAddict 145.80ā55.94. Yes⦠55.94. At that point, it wasnāt a matchupāit was supervised visitation. š
Rallyray92 finally remembered he had a fantasy team, crushing The Mauling 135.16ā59.80. The Mauling is now 0-5, and weāre running out of jokes that arenāt considered bullying.
Dangerous Ed escaped The Tuck Rule 133.16ā121.84, handing the division leader his first loss. The Tuck Rule is still 4-1, so everybody relaxābut Ed definitely left a little dent in that ego.
Team Jcnano99 handled Javierās Scary Team 141.46ā89.42. Apparently the only thing scary about Javi this week was his final score. š»
And finally, The end is near squeezed past Ranchwoods 139.46ā134.04 in the closest matchup of the week. Ranchwoods actually put up a fightā¦
which is more than we can say for half the league. š
Week 5 lesson: Some contenders are starting to separate themselves, some teams are fighting for survival, and somewhere The Mauling is checking to see if the season has a mercy rule.
After our newsletter BYE week, weāre backāand the league is finally starting to take shape! Both the East and West are beginning to reveal their heavy hitters. The contenders are separating themselves from the pack⦠and, well, a few others might want to start taking measurements for that unicorn pink shirt. š¦š©· Thereās still plenty of football left, but the pressure is officially ON.
š THE EAST: A NEW CONTENDER EMERGES
The Tuck Rule, the rookie of the league, is making quite the first impression. In his debut season, heās already looking like a legitimate playoff contender. Not bad for the new guy! Heās quickly making a name for himself and showing the veterans that he didnāt join this league just to participate. But standing right alongside him is Dangerous Ed, who seems to get closer and closer every year to capturing that elusive first championship. This week, Dangerous Ed gave The Tuck Rule a little reminder: The rookie might be good⦠but the veterans arenāt going anywhere. š
š„ THE WEST: UNFINISHED BUSINESS
Over in the West, Team Tr3 has come out swinging. Heās chasing his first championship and looking determined to finally get over the hump. His best finish so far has been 3rd place, with the seasons that followed ending in disappointment. Could this finally be the year Team Tr3 puts it all together Then thereās The End Is Nearāa former champion looking to add a second title to his rĆ©sumĆ©. Experienced, dangerous, and quietly going about his business, heās the kind of team that can sneak up on you before you realize what happened. A silent killer. Keep an eye on this one. š
š FOUR TEAMS. SAME RECORD. ONE TROPHY.
Right now, The Tuck Rule, Dangerous Ed, Team Tr3, and The End Is Near sit atop the league at 4ā1. Four teams. Two divisions. And only ONE of them can finish the season holding the championship trophy. Will one of these four ride their hot start all the way to the title? Or is there another team lurking in the shadows, waiting to crash the party? Time will tellā¦ šæš And for everyone near the bottom of the standings? That unicorn pink shirt isnāt going to wear itself. š¦š
History has officially been made⦠although weāre not entirely sure Coach Javi should be proud of this one. š Javierās Scary Team has carved its name into the Fantasy Squad record books by setting a new record for LEAST POINTS RECEIVED IN A SEASON! In 2025, Coach Javiās opponents managed to score just 1,273.98 points against him, breaking the previous record held by Rallyray92, who received 1,307.48 points. Thatās 33.50 fewer points! Was it elite defense? Brilliant coaching? Intimidation? Or did Javiās opponents simply forget how to score whenever they played him? š¤ Whatever the reason, the numbers donāt lie.
š NEW FANTASY SQUAD RECORD
Least Points Received: 1,273.98
Record Holder: Javierās Scary Team
Coach: Javi
Season: 2025
Congratulations to Coach Javi on officially earning a spot on the Fantasy Squad Records Table! Some coaches make history by scoring points. Javi made history by watching everyone else NOT score them. š
Dear Fantasy Couch,
Iām getting married next week to the love of my life. Heās kind, thoughtful, and everything Iāve ever wanted in a husband. Well, almost everything.
Last week, I overheard him practicing his wedding vows in the bathroom. I thought it was the sweetest thing until I heard him accidentally say his starting quarterbackās name instead of mine.
When I confronted him, he said it was an honest mistake and that heād been under a lot of pressure setting his lineup.
But what really broke my heart happened last night. I overheard him telling his friends how excited he was about the wedding because he was finally getting a ring.
Touched, I asked him what he meant.
He looked me straight in the eyes and said, āWell, Iām certainly not winning one in our fantasy league.ā
Dear Fantasy Couch, should I be concerned that Iām marrying a man who has made more long-term commitments to his fantasy roster than to me?
Sincerely,
The Future Mrs. Questionable
šļø THE FANTASY COUCH
Dear Future Mrs. Questionable,
First, congratulations on your upcoming weddingāand my condolences to your fiancĆ©ās fantasy team.
Should this be a cause for concern? Absolutely donāt worry! Men have short attentions span as you will soon learn, and if heās worried about his quarterback then he has bigger problems.
The real concern is that he thinks a wedding ring is a consolation prize for losing his fantasy league. Before you walk down the aisle, you need to make sure he understands that marriage is not a one-year contract. There are no trades, no waiver claims, and no option to bench your spouse during a difficult matchup.
However, there is some good news. A man who can commit to a fantasy roster may be capable of long-term commitment.
Remember, marriage is the ultimate dynasty league. There are no bye weeks, no trade deadlines, and no waiver wire. Once youāre committed, youāre committed for the long haul.
So marry the man, and make sure to put a āringā on his finger.Ā
Sincerely,
The Fantasy Couch
